No account, ever
Funbow has no sign-in. No email, no name, and no password is ever sent to us. Kid profile names stay on your devices: if you turn on iCloud sync in the grown-up settings, they and your child's pictures are kept in your own private iCloud, which we cannot read. Sync is off until you turn it on.
No ads, no tracking
Funbow contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app tracking. Nothing in the app tries to sell to your child.
Magic pictures
When a grown-up asks for a magic picture, only the typed idea is sent to our server, tied to an anonymous code that is not connected to your identity. Every generated picture is checked for child safety before it is shown, and prompts and pictures are deleted from our servers after a retention period.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. So the app can unlock what you bought, the confirmation of the purchase and the app's anonymous code are shared with our server and with a purchase-management service. Neither sees your name, your email, or your payment details.
Your child's art
Saved pictures live on your device, and in your own iCloud if you turn on sync. They are never uploaded to us for any billing reason and are never deleted by us.
Services we use
Funbow relies on a few kinds of outside service, and each receives only what is written here:
- Cloud AI services receive the idea a grown-up types for a magic picture, with the app's anonymous code, to draw the picture and to check it for child safety.
- A purchase-management service receives each purchase with the app's anonymous code, so the app can unlock what you bought.
- An anonymous usage-analytics service receives events such as “a picture was finished”, with a random code of its own that is separate from the purchase code. It does not keep your IP address.
- A crash-reporting service receives reports of crashes, with no name, no typed idea and no user code attached.
- Your own iCloud, only if you turn on sync: your child's profile names and pictures, in your private iCloud storage, which we cannot read.
None of these receives a name, a photo, or an advertising identifier, and only the cloud AI services receive a typed idea.
About this website
This website counts visits, so we know whether anyone is finding it. The counting uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and records no advertising identifier: only which page was opened, roughly which country it was opened from, what kind of device, and an anonymous code that is discarded and regenerated daily. It cannot be tied back to you, and it is not part of the app. If you give us your email address for a launch notification, it is used only to tell you Funbow has launched, it is never shared or sold, the whole list is deleted once we have launched, and you can ask us to remove yours sooner at privacy@funbow.app.
